SOPT is a new innovative mathematical programming optimizer. With release1.1, SOPT solves linear programs, quadratic programs, and integerprograms, such as mixed-integer programming problems. SOPT uses the mostadvanced mathematical programming techniques and software engineeringmethods to maximize practical usefulness; SOPT finds answers quickly, andsolves tough problems which cannot be handled by conventionaloptimization packages.Currently, SOPT has two modules, SOPT-QP and SOPT-IP. SOPT-QP is based ona new primal-dual path-following algorithm for linear and quadraticprogramming. It provides efficient and robust performance. SOPT-IP usesinnovative search methods to find good solutions to problems with a largenumber of integer variables. Its heuristic algorithm successivelyimproves solutions quickly.In addition to the stand-alone systems, SOPT also has a callablesubroutine library for customized advanced decision support systemdevelopment.
